Fin dall’antichità gli abitanti di Legnano hanno vissuto sulle sponde delle rive del fiume Olona, sviluppando le proprie attività agricole. Infatti, il Ponte di San Magno (vedi foto sopra) è stato costruito in epoca romana ed è era uno dei reperti storici ritrovati in Città; oltre ai numerosi oggetti che sono situati presso il Museo G. Sutermeister.

Esso si trovava in Via Guerciotti, dietro l’ex Macello e vicino alla caserma dei Carabinieri. Il ponte, inizialmente in pietre, fu distrutto nel 1939 e ricostruito in cemento, ma con funzione pedonale. L’immagine sopra rappresenta il ponte ancora integro nel 1903, quando, era ancora riconosciuto con la nomea “San Magno”. Oggi, purtroppo, ha perso qualità e soprattutto riconoscimento, proprio lo stesso che lo contraddistingueva rispetto agli altri ponti.

Since ancient times the inhabitants of Legnano have lived on the banks of the banks of the Olona River, developing their agricultural activities. In fact, the San Magno bridge (see photo above) was built in Roman times and it was one of the historical artifacts found in the city ; as well as numerous objects that are located at the G. Sutermeister Museum.

It was located in Via Guerciotti , behind the former abattoir and near the police station. The bridge, originally in stones, was destroyed in 1939 and rebuilt in concrete, but with pedestrian function. The image above is the still intact bridge in 1903, when he was still recognized with a reputation “San Magno”. Today, unfortunately, it has lost quality and above recognition , the very same that distinguished him than the other bridges.
