La Chiesa di San Domenico, dedicata all’omonimo santo, è stata costruita a partire dal 1900, conclusa e consacrata nel 1908. Durante i primi lavori per la costruzione della Chiesa, era interessante la cosiddetta “carovana” dei san domenichini, in cui, ogni domenica, veniva effettuato il trasporto dei materiali da utilizzare per la realizzazione. inInizialmente la Chiesa era stata costruita in laterizio e il sagrato in rizzada.
Successivamente, venne preposta una commissione dei Fratelli Ottolina, nel 1925, per poter dare una nuova immagine alla Chiesa. Il progetto definitivo venne presentato nel 1930 dall’architetto P.G.Magistretti, il quale si occupò non solo della facciata, ma di tutto l’assetto architettonico.
La Chiesa assunse uno stile romanico, la facciata in marmo bianco e laterizio, su cui ergono quattro statue collegate ai simboli dei quattro evangelisti: il bue (San Luca), il leone (San Marco), l’angelo (San Matteo) e l’aquila (San Giovanni); inoltre, venne costruito un nuovo campanile in stile rinascimentale. La particolarità del campanile è l’installazione di sette campane, con un sistema motorizzato che permette di suonare con minimo cinque campane.
Accanto alla Chiesa sono posizionati anche la casa del parroco e del Coadiutore, quest’ultima solo durante la fase di ristrutturazione. La Chiesa di San Domenico è una delle più belle della Città di Legnano, grazie alla sua architettura e al suo stile.

The peculiarity of the bell tower is the installation of seven motorized bells that allows you to play with at least five bells.
