Oggi abbiamo il piacere di parlare, ancora una volta, della Manifattura di Legnano, ma vista dagli occhi di chi ha lavorato e dedicato la sua passione per questa azienda, che vive ancora.

Silvano Girola, infatti, mi ha concesso un’intervista, descrivendomi com’era il lavoro in Manifattura.

D: Innanzitutto, da che anno ha iniziato a lavorare in Manifattura?

G: Nel 1975 ho iniziato il mio lavoro in Manifattura.

D: Com’era la situazione della Manifattura di Legnano in quel periodo?

G: La Manifattura era un’azienda in grossa espansione, in quegli anni ha acquistato altre strutture in altre Città Lombarde o Piemontesi; stava diventando una grossa realtà, importante non solo a Legnano, ma in tutta Italia.

D: Qual era la sua mansione all’interno della Manifattura?

G: Il mio compito iniziale era come revisore dei conti, tutto ciò che riguardava l’ambito amministrativo mi riguardava. In particolare, il mio lavoro interessava tutti gli stabilimenti, non solo quello di Legnano, quindi molto spesso, dovevo spostarmi in altre Città.

D: Cosa le piaceva di più della Manifattura?

G: La visione dell’imprenditore è il ricordo più bello e ciò che mi piaceva di più, sapeva come gestire le situazioni, ma soprattutto puntava molto sulla qualità del prodotto, più che sulla quantità. Prima provenivo da un’azienda Statale e cambiare ambito, arrivando in un’azienda privata, è stata un’esperienza totalmente opposta.

D: Fino a che anno ha lavorato in Manifattura?

G: Lavoro tutt’ora in Manifattura, nonostante essa abbia chiuso nel 2008. La società era in crisi ed è stata affidata al Tribunale tramite un rapporto della procedura concorsuale.

D: A proposito della Chiesetta di Santa Maria Ausiliatrice, di cui abbiamo parlato nello scorso articolo, lei si ricorda qualcosa?

G: Purtroppo non ho ricordi, ma per il semplice fatto che la Chiesetta fu chiusa e sconsacrata nel 1973 e io sono arrivato nel 1975 in Manifattura. Però, mi ricordo che vi era un asilo infantile, non più gestito dalle Suore Salesiane, ma bensì da Laici.

D: La ringrazio molto per l’intervista concessami e per la sua interessante esperienza lavorativa all’interno della Manifattura di Legnano.

G : The Manufacture company was in big expansion in those years bought other facilities in other cities of Lombardy or Piedmont; It was becoming a really big, important not only in Legnano, but throughout Italy.

Q: What was your job within the Manufacture?

G: My first job was as an auditor, everything concerning the administrative scope of my business. In particular, my work was interested in all establishments, not only to Legnano, so very often, I had to move in other cities.

Q: What do you like best of the Manufacture?

G: The entrepreneur’s vision is the best memory and what I liked most, knew how to handle situations, but especially aimed a lot on product quality, rather than quantity. Before I came from a company and change the State field, arriving in a private company, it was a totally opposite.

Q: To what year he worked in Manufacturing?

G: Work still in Manufacturing, despite having closed in 2008. The company was in crisis and was entrusted to the Court by means of a competitive procedure report.

Q: About the Church of St. Mary Help of Christians, which we discussed in the last article, you remember anything?

G: Unfortunately I do not remember, but for the simple fact that the church was closed and deconsecrated in 1973 and I came in 1975 in Manufacturing. However, I remember that there was a kindergarten, not run by the Salesian Sisters, but rather by Laity.
